Day 3: Explore Saigon

Transfer to the airport and board a flight to Danang. On arrival, transfer to the charming Hoi An, where the rest of the afternoon is free for you to spend as you wish.

Day 6: Hoi An on foot

Head out on a walking tour of Hoi An, a wonderfully atmospheric, laidback and traditional city, wandering the cobbled streets of the old town to spot hidden temples, historic merchant houses and to visit the famous Japanese Bridge. Day 7: Fly to Hanoi

Starting at the 11th-century northern gate, the entry point of the imperial citadel of Thang Long, continue to Cua Bac Church and along Phan Dinh Phung, considered Hanoi's most beautiful street. Pause to discover Quan Thang Temple, walk along the West Lake and browse the stalls of Chau Long market. Day 11: More Halong Bay

Day 12: Kinh Thay River

Day 17: Bat Trang Village

Location: Bat Trang, Red River, Thay Pagoda

Visit Bat Trang ceramic village which has produced ceramics famous throughout Vietnam for generations. Returning to the ship, a local dance troupe will perform a lion dance on the pier. Then, stop at the lakeside 11th-century Thay Pagoda to explore its exquisite temples and the surrounding village.

Day 18: Upper Red River

Disembark at the UNESCO-recognised Duang Lam, a beautifully preserved example of a traditional Vietnamese village, to admire the intricate architecture and fascinating culture. Day 19: Viet Tri

Location: Viet Tri, Hung Lo Temple, Hanoi

    Barrhead Travel requires a minimum deposit of 200 GBP per person or the full booking value, whichever is less, with the final balance not due until 98 days before departure.

    Up to 98 days before tour starts: Forfeit 100% of deposit.

    At 97 days before tour starts: Forfeit 50% of booking price.

    At 74 days before tour starts: Forfeit 75% of booking price.

    At 28 days before tour starts: Forfeit 100% of booking price.
