Designed exclusively for the solo traveller, enjoy the delights of the beautiful fishing port of Rovinj and historic Pula on this superb tour.
Itinerary
Day 1
Door-to-Door departure, then by coach overnight towards Rovinj.
Day 2
Continue into Croatia to Rovinj and then take a boat to the beautiful St. Andrew’s Island, where we will stay for the next six nights.
The rest of the day is at leisure so why not take time to enjoy the hotel and the surrounding area.
Day 3 Rovinj
Location: Rovinj
Our included excursion takes us over to Rovinj where the day can be spent at leisure.
Why not join our optional guided walking tour? Our local guide will introduce you to the sights of this beautiful town, famous for its narrow streets, small squares and old palaces.
The old town itself is rich with a combination of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture. See the Church of St. Euphemia, the Town Square with its mix of Venetian and Trieste–Austrian artistic architecture and the town clock complete with a Venetian Lion.
Day 4 Pula & Pazin
Location: Pula & Pazin
Included excursion through the beautiful countryside to the pearl of the Istrian Mosaic, Pula. Situated at the southern tip of the peninsula, Pula is the largest city in Istria and has been in existence for three thousand years. It has a long tradition of winemaking, fishing and shipbuilding and has also been Istria’s administrative centre since ancient Roman times.
Why not join our optional sightseeing tour. Our local guide will introduce you to the sights of this beautiful town, including the famous Roman Amphitheatre built during the 1st Century AD and the Temple of Augustus. We also see the Triumphal Arch of the Sergi, built during the last two decades of the 1st Century BC and the Hercules’ Gate, the oldest town gate. *Please note entrances into places of interest are at extra cost. We continue to the old town of Pazin, home to the biggest and best-preserved medieval fortress in Istria.
We return to our hotel in time for our evening meal.
Day 5 Day At Leisure
Location: Day at Leisure
Today you can enjoy a day at leisure. Perhaps relax by the hotel pool, venture to the nearby pebble beach or maybe take the boat to Rovinj town for further sightseeing.
Day 6 Lim Fjord
Location: Lim Fjord
A further day at leisure or why not join our optional half-day excursion to the beautiful Lim Fjord? We take the boat from Rovinj to explore the Nature Reserve of the Fjord, an area of natural beauty. During the day we pause at a fish restaurant where you can enjoy the local delicacies (extra cost).
Day 7 Porec
Location: Porec
Today, our optional excursion today takes us to the popular resort of Porec.
Explore the Old Town seeing the main sights which include the 6th-century Basilica and the old Roman ruins or perhaps relax in one of the waterfront cafés and restaurants.
Day 8
Later today, we begin the overnight journey towards home.
Day 9
Return home.
